For some people, their site analytics are only a subject of interest to them. For others, analytics are a key performance indicator of how well their website is supporting their business.

If you are one of the latter then you are probably already aware of Google’s upgrade of Universal Analytics to Google Analytics 4 (GA4). You probably also know Google will no longer be processing data from 1st July 2023 for Universal Analytics.

Why Should I Care?

You will be able to continue using Universal Analytics all the way up to July 2023 which will give you plenty of time to prepare for this transition. If Go4 currently manages your analytics for you, then we will make sure that we have activated  GA4 tracking on your site before 1st July this year.

This is important to you if you regularly run year on year comparisons with your analytics data. GA4 records things in a very different way to Universal Analytics, and these comparisons will be different if you compare GA4 reports to UA in future.

GA4 is a huge upgrade on UA, comes with some great features, and is still free as long as you’re not getting more than 10 million hits a month. If you manage your own analytics and need help setting up GA4 on your website, if you’re looking for some advice on how to get more out of your existing analytics, or if you just have questions, please get in touch with us to see how we can assist you.
